I stepped closer to the job, firmly planting my feet under the car for leverage and continued to turn. When the bolt finally gave way it stopped doing what it was supposed to do, which was to HOLD THE ENGINE IN THE CAR. The back of the engine fell on to the driveway and on my FIRMLY PLANTED FEET.

I got a ton of these;
- there was the time my free bald tires delaminated and the steel belts came out of the tire and repeatedly beat the wheel wells of the car at 60mph. The belts cut through the bondo/steel easily.
- I was doing my own head job and over-torqued one of the head bolts and snapped it off. I read and read about how to fix that and found out it was going to be a real tough job.... so I sold the car instead (i was quite young then)
- Me and my friends decided to do a full tuneup on my V8, but failed to mark which spark plug wire came from where. We connected them up wrong, fired up the engine and it blew flames back through the carberator and burnt my eyebrow hair off.
ahhh... good times.
