Vista Vs. OS/X

I honestly used to think that Paul Thurrott was a bit of a Microsoft shill, but actually reading through his latest article on Windows Vista Beta 1 vs. Mac OS X "Tiger" (part 2 looking at security, network and power management features), he actually seems to know what he's talking about. It probably also helps that his views are pretty much in line with mine in this particular case (that is, OS/X is far ahead in many respects). He comes up with some other thoughts that I haven't seen on windows oriented sites, such as the fact that vista seems to be getting more complicated to use instead of less.

Disagree. That's pure Apple fanaticism speaking, not anything even remotely connected with reality. The best way I can describe the impression I've had of the Vista beta is to paraphrase "It's A Wonderful Life:"

"Look here Mister Jobs, it's no skin off my nose, I'm just your little Mac maker. But you just can't laugh off this Windows Vista anymore."

Agree!!! wonderful article Paul Thurrott. waiting for the second part of that, which describing Network & Security. All new look & feels for Vista is NOTHING BUT REAL IDEA COPY from OS X.

Again, sheer opinion. You don't have any more information on that than I do. The fact is that computer systems have borrowed ideas, or stolen them, from each other for decades. Look at Apple "obtaining" the basic idea of windowing systems from XEROX and Microsoft stealing it from them or from XEROX (depending on who you believe) later.

Yes, but Apple technically bought the rights to that information via stock. XEROX was given stock by Apple as a payoff to see adn use their technology. Apple also got to the lab way before Microsoft. In the meantime, Microsoft stole {did not pay nor ask} the ideas and technologies of the Mac and tweaked them ever so slightly so they were no longer considered copyright infringement.

This is ridiculous- "Microsoft copies UAC" from OSX! :D
Have we forgotten that this feature belongs to UNIX, eh? It's not Apple's invention.
