Call of Duty 5 Trailer

Got an email today about the Call of Duty 5 (aka CoD World at War) trailer now online. It looks interesting, but other than the addition of a flame thrower and some nice explosions, it really doesn't tickle my fancy all that much. It's back to WW2, which is quite frankly, a bit played out. Hell, the first three CoD games were WW2 based! I thought that the success of CoD4:Modern Warfare would have inclined them to move into the modern age, or heck, move a few years into the future.... Oh well, the game is (I presume) using the CoD 4 engine (or a derivative of it) so the visuals and environments should be very nice, but I'm honestly not sure if YAWWTG (Yet Another WW2 Game) will get a good reception without something really amazing to bring people into it. Wikipedia has some more details on some of the technical details of CoD5.

Oh I disagree. I thought COD4 sucked compared to the first three. I like WWII games. If I want modern warfare, I will deal with BattleField 2 etc.

The COD brand was always about WWII campaigns. I liked that... re-living known battles and areas. I can't wait to see COD5.
