GNOME to go GIT?

Interesting tidbit about the GNOME linux desktop project from OSNews.... seems they are Migrating to Git for their revision control system.

This is interesting, as git was created for the Linux kernel developers after the non-free software that was being used (BitKeeper) went to a for-pay scheme. Git semed to explode as the Ruby on Rails project (with GitHub and friends), and this seems to be a second (that I know of) major Linux project to adopt git for their SCM.
