A good dissection of Gates' spam manifesto over on The Register. Personally I think the better way to stop spam is to start hunting down spammers one by one and after using the tried and true draw and quarter method, display them in a public area. This I'm sure will start to persuade spammers that getting a real job is a much better idea.
