Winamp version 5 has been released, and looks pretty nifty. Doesn't appear to be as crappy as 3, and could be the needed update to 2 that many have been waiting for.
Interestingly enough, the main pages for winamp.com and www.winamp.com are different....
I've been using Winamp5 for a like 2 months already. Haven't had any problems with it really. Only time it goes wonky is when the network cable comes unplugged, or the wireless goes out of range.
Why would network connectivity affect an mp3 player? I know it looks up cds and songs for the minibrowser, but come on!
I've seen other players/applications crash when the network goes down/up... I guess something about trying to read from a filehandle that's dead, without proper error checking, causing a forever loop?
