Linux.com has a nice review of a users quest for a Linux audio player. A good overview of what was going on in the audio player world. End conclusion (from myself as well) is that some are better than others, some suck worse than others, and depending on what you are looking for there are a variety that'll work for you. Still no One True Player though.
