Shacknews tells me that this morning's interesting news was that Doom 4 is Announced:
"Doom is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth," said id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead in a press release."
This is very interesting. Going to earth = cool. Better engine = a given (the new Tech 5 is presumed). I just really hope that they don't compromise PC performance / controls / gameplay to make it cross platform.... (which the Tech 5 engine is currently able to do).
It'll be interesting.... Doom 3 really excited me, but I didn't love it as much as I thought I should have (but I am also notoriously bad completing single player campaigns...).
