Pretty amazing HTML only particle system called Parcycle. A bit slow on my dual core system, still amazing to see though.
As usual, IE users need not apply until their browser supports HTML5 and standards....
Works fine in IE 8
Good speed too, on a single core Pentium 4 @ 2 Ghz w 3 GB
If its slow for you, I suggest using a diffrent browser, or do some tuning of your system

Interesting, I click on the link to the parcycle page and just get a 'your browser is not supported' popup when I go there in IE8.
