Matrix Revolutions (unrated)
This isn't my review, although it matched up pretty well with my opinions. This review/rant on The Matrix - Revolutions is done by Scott Kurtz who writes the fine comic Player vs. Player. Caution, the review contains spoilers, don't read it if you either a) haven't seen the movie yet or b) care :)

Equilibrium (5/5)
Note - this is a copy/paste from from my personal site.

I just finished watching the movie Equilibrium and I have to say WOW. It claims to kick the matrix's ass and holy shit does it ever. Now I did like the matrix, but this one I liked more I think, and ironicially enough, I think I like it for the same reasons I liked the original Matrix. It came out of nowhere, I hadn't really seen much about it, and it ended up surpassing my expectations. It also didn't have anyone in it. No big names anyway, a couple of players of bit parts here and there (the biggest being either the guy who plays John Doe or the guy who played Boromir in Lord of the Rings, both of whom were not in it for very long).

I remember hearing about this movie.... six months? A year ago? Something like that, and thinking "that sounds really really cool," but then nothing really came of it. I then saw it while in the video store the other day and was reminded about it. I managed to get my hands on a copy and I must say, this is going to be a purchase soon.

No one seems to really be talking about this movie, so I hope to spread the word on how good it is!

The movie is a sci-fi mix of 1984, The Matrix, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Fahrenheit 451, and A Brave New World all rolled into one (oh, and a bit of Vulcan philosophy in there as well). Read on for a review and possible (but not intended) spoilers.

Daredevil (3.5/5)
Oh my god, a new review, what the heck is going on here... Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I went to see the new Ben Affleck comic-to-movie adventure, Daredevil. Then about a week later I went again with my other friends who were pissed off I didn't tell them I was going the first time.

But I digress

Before I go further, let me say that I have never read the comics, and never even seen the "Spiderman vs. Daredevil" cartoon that came out around the same time. I knew absolutely nothing about Daredevil before the trailers started showing up on TV.

Anyway...

The Two Towers (5/5)

It is no easy task to produce a sequel that is as good as its predecessor. To make a follow-up that excels beyond the original is an even more rare phenomenon. In fact, I can only think of two examples where the second film in a series outperformed its near perfect predecessor (The Godfather: Part II, and The Empire Strikes Back). If you are so inclined to view Peter Jackson's The Two Towers as a sequel to The Fellowship of the Ring, you can add this film to that short list.

Minority Report (4/5)

Minority Report, Steven Spielberg's much bally-hooed adaptation of Philip K. Dick's short story is a mostly solid film that comes close to excellence. If there is interest in a full treatment of the film versus its literary counterpart, I will go into that later. For now, the film:
