Hmm.... should I spend $400+ on Office 2003 or download Openoffice for free. Oh the agnoizing decisions!
Yet for some reason most in management choose to spend the $400+. What a strange world.
Office 2003 Standard (no Access, no Publisher, no Frontpage) is about $510 on the shelf.
Yes, Openoffice is free and pretty darn good at that, but it still is missing a ton of things that Office does have.
It was kind of funny. I was in LD helping somebody buy a computer and get at least semi-legal with software. One of the guys there suggested to get OpenOffice instead, as it was fully compatible with MS Office. I asked him "have YOU actually tried opening an Excel worksheet that tons of complicated formulas, vba scripting, database connectivity, etc in it?" But his eyes glassed over and he mumbled away :-)
