Shooting Movies with a DSLR
I know that the Canon 20D digital SLR has a high framerate, but who knew it was high enough to
shoot a movie with. Can't say the movie is hugely interesting, but the method of it's creation is. Some more details
here.

GNOME 3.0 Ideas
An interesting article on exploring future GNOME ideas
over at footnotes. In the comments is also another
page with some interesting / radical ideas for design of menus, window management ideas, filemanagement, and others. Make sure you check the bottom of the pages for more links to other interesting stuff. Anyway, they all have some interesting ideas, especially if combined with some of the
hardware graphics ideas that are out there for gnome 2.12.
Hopefully some of these will be implemented, and not lost or politiced away.

Self-certifying File System
I read about the
Self-certifying File System (SFS) in my Security Hacks book. Basically a replacement for NFS where clients are required to authenticate themselves via key before they can share files. This eliminates the dangers of IP or file handle spoofing.
Now I just need a windows client :)

Bike Jump Video
Boone threw me this
link this morning of some nutters on racing bikes doing jumps into a big foam pit. Best lines heard?
"what do you need buddy?"
"... ambulance...."
Not that I like to laugh at the misfortune of others, but that's damn funny :)

Blender Docs and Tutorials
I'm sure that everyone who needs to know knows about this already, but I just discovered
the Blender3D documentation which includes some well done tutorials such as
Your first animation in 30 30 minutes, which makes things look
really easy. One more thing to add to my list of stuff to learn :)

World Wind World Browser from NASA
Found this program this morning and haven't been able to get enough of it.
NASA World Wind is very similar to
Keyhole, but free, with multiple sats (with different modes), but not quite the huge resolution. Very fun.
